What's in a name?
Why Goldcrest Advisors?
There is a beautiful story from Ancient Greece retold by Aristotle where all the birds decide they need to appoint a king. The birds agree to make the one that can fly highest their king.
All the birds start to climb into the air and the Eagle soon ends up flying higher than all the others. The just as the Eagle starts to tire and return to the ground the Goldcrest, the smallest of all the birds appears from under the Eagle’s tail feathers and flies higher than all the others and becomes the King of the Birds and acquires its golden crown.
We are not called Goldcrest because we think we are the “king of the advisory firms” but we admire the smartness, agility and resilience the Goldcrest showed. In an industry that has been dominated by eagles we believe there is something to be said for being smart, agile and creative. You want to pay for the people that have the experience and knowledge you want not for layers of management, overheads, and back offices.
This is particularly true as we evolve into a world that we share with artificial intelligences: human interactions with people that understand others and have real world experience of what our advice means in practice have never been more important.
